Mental Health – We are all in this together

Mental illness does not belong to “other people”. It belongs to all of us.

Behind every diagnosis is a person.
Behind every person is a family, a friend, a colleague, a neighbour — someone who matters to us.

At some point in our lives, every one of us will face a mental or emotional struggle, whether it is depression, anxiety, grief, stress, trauma or simply a time when life becomes too much.

So why do we continue to separate mental illness from ourselves?

We are all human. We all struggle. We all need support sometimes.

Mental illness should never be a reason to label, isolate or define someone. A diagnosis is only one part of a person’s story — it does not define their worth, their abilities or their future.

As a community, we have a responsibility to look beyond the label, to listen without judgement, to show compassion and to help where we can.

Because mental health is not an issue that belongs to someone else.  It belongs to us all!
